 Buttercup Summer Garden ~ July 12 – 16, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
For children ages 4 ½ to 7 (entering Grade 1)
$135 per week
Led by Merriconeag Early Childhood Teacher, Kam Anderson

     Buttercup campers will enjoy many summer activities such as gardening, playing in water, walking in the woods, frolicking in the orchard and making simple crafts. Friendships form and social skills develop as campers experience a tranquil and joyful early childhood summer program infused with song, verse and story.

Kam Anderson has been an Early Childhood teacher at Merriconeag since 1999 and a member of the school community since 1996. Before coming to Merriconeag, Kam had a home-based nursery and day-care for four years. She has been an elementary teacher at the Riley school in Glen Cove, Maine, a preschool teacher at Peopleplace, a cooperative preschool in Camden, Maine, and an elementary school teacher in Hope, Maine. She received her Waldorf Certification in 1996 from the New England Teacher Training Council and Antioch College. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and in Elementary Education from the University of Connecticut. Her daughter graduated from Merriconeag's eighth grade in 2003 and her son attends the high school. Kam and her family live in Pownal.
